The
poem ”Mittsommernacht” by Ingeborg Arlt describes
a Summer-landscape and at the same time a landscape of the soul.
Everything, shadow, night, darkness, morning becomes a metaphor.
The precision of her observation of nature, similar to that of
Wilhelm Lehmann, does not prevent her from using exact terms in
a metaphorical way. Summernight and night of love are becoming
one. The cosmic phenomenon of the solstice is also considered
as a personal one: the change in life.
The artful design of the book follows the idea of collect and
preserve the feeling and atmosphere of the events. Form and colour
are adequately used to the content. From the deep blue of the
night the book develops into a shining and promising orange -
like the sun. The spontaenous handwriting corresponds to the “free
style” use of the brush and the expressive and abstract
forms.
